Published in Independent Projects, 2021

Context

Built independent affiliate marketing projects across multiple digital commerce platforms, starting with Accesstrade and currently expanding into Shopee Affiliate Video and TikTok Shop Affiliate channels.

Problem

Affiliate opportunities offered scalable monetization potential but were highly dependent on external brand campaigns, platform incentives, and fluctuating traffic economics.

Actions

  • Built student referral communities, fanpages, and network-based traffic channels through Accesstrade
  • Designed referral operating process for key members with manual proof-submission and tracking workflows
  • Planned next-stage paid acquisition experiments to scale traffic generation
  • Currently developing early-stage content-driven affiliate channels on Shopee Video and TikTok Shop

Outcome

  • Built practical experience in affiliate acquisition funnels, referral systems, and conversion-based monetization
  • Validated effectiveness of community-led distribution in early-stage growth
  • Identified structural limitations of platform and brand dependency in affiliate models
  • Expanded capability into short-form content commerce ecosystems

Key Insight

Affiliate models scale most sustainably when operators control traffic sources, diversify platform exposure, and adapt quickly to changing incentives and algorithm dynamics.
